This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

The Virginia Department of Energy is offering the EVCAP subaward program to work at the community level to understand and address issues surrounding the deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The focus is on specific underserved communities and the results will inform current and future EV charging deployment. The grants are open to EV charging vendors or for collaborations between governments and technology providers. Projects will include installation of EV chargers to evaluate and measure the benefits to underserved communities.

In May 2023, major automakers announced that future electric vehicle (EV) models starting in 2025 would incorporate Tesla's charge port, the North American Charging Standard (NACS), which is currently being standardized as J3400. As a result, the J3400 connector is undergoing an extensive standardization and testing process to ensure the connector is widely available for automakers and EV charging providers. This webinar will feature updates from the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation's Senior Advisor for Standards and Reliability as well as from leading experts from the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) on the standardization, development, and implementation of the J3400 connector.
