Southeast Portal for Electric Transportation Opportunities

This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

Organized by Clean Cities Georgia, the 2025 Clean Transportation Expo will be an opportunity to build public-private partnerships and talk about successes and challenges with all forms of clean transportation, both within Georgia and the region. On July 7, 2025, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) released the second-round grant solicitation for Light Duty Zero Emission Vehicle Supply Equipment projects under the Volkswagen Settlement Environmental Mitigation Trust. This funding opportunity supports the continued development of the Fast Charge TN Network. This round makes $2.8 million in funding available for eligible fast-charging projects and complements the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Grant Program, focusing specifically on areas not covered by NEVI buildout plans. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced the availability of FHWA's revised National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program Interim Final Guidance. The Program provides $5 billion of funding to States to deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability. Although the Interim Final Guidance is effective immediately, FHWA invites comments on this Guidance. See link for changes and details.

Organized by NAFA (Fleet Management Association), the Green Fleet Awards recognizes peak-performing fleet sustainability efforts and honors fleets who have enhanced practices to make a positive impact on the environment. The Green Fleet Awards is free to enter and is open to both government and commercial fleets in North America.
