This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

"The Virginia Department of Energy is offering the EVCAP subaward program to work at the community level to understand and address issues surrounding the deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The focus is on specific underserved communities, and the results will inform current and future EV charging deployment.
The grants are open to EV charging vendors or for collaborations between governments and technology providers." See link for details.

Starting May 1, 2023, the Green Operator program opened the first round of funding for GO-Zero, a program that will provides an incentive towards the purchase of zero-emission and near zero-emission drayage trucks. Like the existing Green Operator program, the expectation is for the trucks to provide service to the Port of Virginia facilities. Unlike the current Green Operator program, for diesel-to-diesel upgrades, scrappage of an older diesel-powered truck is not a requirement. However, an additional incentive will be made available if an older drayage truck is scrapped.
The Go-Zero application period first opened on May 1, 2023 and is now, in 2026, accepting applications and waitlist request on a rolling basis based on eligibility. The purpose of Alabama’s NEVI Program is to provide funding to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability. This Program initially provides funding assistance for publicly accessible Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) infrastructure installation, operation, and maintenance intended to serve users of FHWA-designated Electric Vehicle Alternative Fuel Corridors throughout Alabama. "NCDOT is preparing for the release of the NCDOT National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program (NEVI) Round 2 Funding Opportunity. The Request for Proposals (RFP) under Round 2 will provide funding for sixteen EV charging stations along North Carolina’s Alternative Fuel Corridors to ensure a robust EV charging network. NCDOT plans to post the RFP at the NCDOT NEVI Program Webpage on March 27, 2026. Note this date is subject to change.
The Round 2 RFP has some significant changes to both the scoring and the application process. Therefore, NCDOT will be holding a webinar on April 7 at 1:30 to walk through the Round 2 RFP. Businesses interested in applying for funding should attend the webinar to learn more about the RFP, how to apply, resources to help with applications, and how to submit questions."

Plug In America has now launched its 2026 annual survey and invites you (if you live in the U.S.) to take a few minutes to share your experience with or perceptions of electric vehicles. Anyone in the U.S., whether they drive an EV or not, is welcome to respond to the survey. Feedback is used to get a pulse on topics, such as charging, dealerships, purchase considerations, barriers to adoption, and more.
