Southeast Portal for Electric Transportation Opportunities

This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

U.S. Access Board published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to amend the accessibility guidelines for buildings and facilities covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968 (ABA) to specifically address the accessibility of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This proposed rule provides specifications for the accessibility of EV charging stations, to include the EV charger (including physical and communication access), EV charging space, access aisles, and accessible routes. A public survey administered by Metroplan and funded through the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment's EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) planning grant seeks input on Energy and Environment Innovation in Central Arkansas. Public feedback will help target research and investment in emissions reduction measures and technologies that reduce pollutants, create high-quality jobs, and spur economic growth in Central Arkansas. Projects outlined in the Central Arkansas plan will be included as a supplement to the state's EEI Comprehensive Action Plan (CAP). The four priority areas are: a) Clean Transportation Choices and Green Corridors, b) Electric & Efficient Vehicles, c) Net-Zero Buildings, and d) Waste Management & Recycling.
