This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

The SC Energy Office (SCEO) received formula funding through the US Department of Energy’s (US DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program to award subgrants to projects and programs that improve energy efficiency, cut carbon emissions, and reduce energy use. Units of local governments in South Carolina may apply for subgrants from SC EECBG Competitive Program if they were not eligible to receive direct EECBG funding from US DOE. The SCEO plans to award no more than 30 SC EECBG subgrants ranging from $50,000 to $75,000 each.

This webinar will cover electric transportation funding options for communities in the Southeast US with specific focus on the Charging Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Program. Attendees will be able to hear presentations from recent CFI awardees, including Henrico County, VA and the Atlanta Regional Commission, as well as multiple technical assistance providers who can help in all aspects of applying for and managing federal awards for electric vehicles.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued regulations establishing minimum standards and requirements for certain electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Subsequent to the publication of this final rule, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) published a Technical Information Report for a new connector standard, known as J3400, which multiple automakers have announced an intention to adopt in the coming years. To ensure the effective implementation of programs that are subject to the minimum standards and requirements and to inform a potential update to the minimum standards, FHWA, in coordination with the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, is seeking public comments. Tentative meeting agenda: - Review and vote of the EVWG's first report. - Updates from subcommittees. - Series of technical presentations.
