This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

The Electric Vehicle Working Group (EVWG) has periodic meetings regarding the development, adoption, and integration of electric vehicles into the U.S. transportation and energy systems. Quarterly meeting of the Electric Vehicle Working Group (EVWG). The tentative meeting agenda includes 1) Opening remarks by the Secretaries of Energy and Transportation; 2) A discussion on the first report to be drafted by the EVWG; 3) A discussion on future report topics and subcommittees. Members of the public who would like to participate may do so virtually. Individuals must register for the meeting.

The SC Energy Office has received formula funding through the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program to award subgrants to projects and programs that improve energy efficiency, cut carbon emissions, and reduce energy use for eligible units of local governments in SC. In this webinar, the SC Energy Office will provide an overview of the recently released SC EECBG subgrant guidance and application, answer some Frequently Asked Questions, and point to additional resources available. The webinar will be recorded and posted later for those unable to attend.

The US Department of Energy announced a funding opportunity (DE-FOA-0003106: Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) 50143: Domestic Manufacturing Conversion Grants). This funding opportunity is for Domestic Manufacturing Conversion Grants for electrified vehicles will provide cost-shared grants supporting the domestic production of efficient hybrid, plug-in electric hybrid, plug-in electric drive, and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Public comments are invited on the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT)'s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) plan to conduct the first national-level Electric Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey (eVIUS). The eVIUS will be conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics, usage, and charging patterns of electric vehicles (EVs) as well as the demographics and charging preferences of EV owners. The data collected through eVIUS will inform policy and planning decisions on future transportation systems and infrastructure investments.

The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office) will host a webinar focused the importance of zero-emission ridership and all electrified mobility modes. Panelists will discuss strategies for communities, cities, and states when deploying electric vehicle (EV) charging across all modes of travel—from transit and school buses to micromobility options like bicycles, e-scooters, and shared fleets. This webinar will also feature an overview of RideElectric.gov—a place to celebrate all electrified transportation modes.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a funding opportunity through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) to offer funding assistance to accelerate the upgrade, retrofit, and turnover of the legacy diesel fleet. The DERA program promotes an array of diesel emissions strategies by working with manufacturers, fleet operators, air quality professionals, environmental and community organizations and state and local officials to address the varying priorities of different regions and sectors.
