Southeast Portal for Electric Transportation Opportunities

This portal serves as a central hub that aggregates and enhances the visibility of active funding sources, comment solicitations, research opportunities, events, and other participatory initiatives geared towards advancing transportation electrification – primarily across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This list is managed by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability as part of the Southeast Electric Transportation Regional Initiative (SETRI).

The fifth annual "Transportation Electrification in the Southeast" report, published in October 2024 by Atlas Public Policy in partnership with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), analyzes the data underlying the electric vehicle (EV) market from July 2023 to June 2024 in SACE's six-state region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The data reveals a continuation of growth trends across six indicators: manufacturing investments, anticipated jobs, EV sales, charging infrastructure deployment, utility investments, and public funding. Report authors and contributors from Atlas Public Policy and SACE will host a virtual roundtable to discuss the state of the EV market and look ahead to 2025. See link for details.

Eligible activities include the retrofit or replacement of existing diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment with the EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) certified engine configurations and verified retrofit and idle reduction technologies.
